Important Notes
- Sick leave conversion only applies to immediate retirements, not deferred or disability retirements
- The converted time cannot be used to meet eligibility requirements for retirement
- CSRS and FERS employees have the same sick leave conversion rates
- Annual leave is not converted - it's paid out as a lump sum
- The calculation uses a 2,087-hour work year as established by OPM
